Smyrna-Clayton Little League Badge Policy
Purpose: The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines for the issuance and usage of identification of badges for any SCLL approved volunteer involved in the capacity of the following, Directors on Duty, Managers, Coach’s, Umpires, or Team Moms.
Scope: The Policy applies to all volunteers engaged in an approved capacity under auspices of Smyrna-Clayton Little League, who have direct contact with players on the field.
[Exempt – Press box/Scorekeeper, concession stand volunteers, grounds crew, etc. and other miscellaneous adults who are not directly in contact with the players.]
Policy:
Issuance of ID Badges:
Every volunteer involved and organized by Smyrna-Clayton Little League shall be issued a unique identification badge.
ID badges will be issued upon completion of the volunteer registration process and any required background checks and training.
Badge Design:
ID badges shall prominently display the volunteer’s name, photograph, and position within the organization.
The badge design shall include Smyrna-Clayton logo or emblem for easy identification.
Wearing ID Badges:
Volunteers are required to always wear their ID badges visibly while participating in SCLL activities and/or functions.
ID badges must be worn on a lanyard and should be easily visible to players, parents, and other volunteers.
Responsibility of Badges:
Volunteers are responsible for the safekeeping of their ID badges.
In the event of forgetting your ID, you must report to the Director on Duty to be issued a temporary badge.
Lost or stolen ID badges must be reported immediately to your Division Director
Temporary Badge Issuance:
In the event a Manger needs assistance on the field from an unapproved volunteer, a Temporary badge will be issued for a maximum of two occurrences only. They must sign out the temp badge from a Director on Duty from the concession stand.
After the second issuance of a temporary badge, further requests will be subject to review and approval by the Board of Directors, considering the circumstances and necessity on a case-by-case basis.
Misuse of ID Badges:
ID badges are for the safety of our youth in our organization and should not be used for personal gain or unauthorized use
Any misuse of ID badges will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of volunteer status.
